| ...about EVAH PIRAZZI Double Bass strings: | |
I am very hard to please when it comes to strings, so it is not without great deliberation that I say that the Evah Pirazzis are the finest all-around set of strings I have every used. They speak quickly under the bow and have a lovely, rich tone; and for pizzicato playing, they possess a rare combination of darkness/fullness and clarity/sustain. They are very well-suited for playing in either an orchestra or in a jazz group, and there are no other strings that can handle both duties as well. You have done a fantastic job with these strings. You are to be congratulated, however, for the fact that the Evah Pirazzis do not seem to lose their life when repeatedly taken off and put back on the bass. Thank you, |

These strings are INCREDIBLE!! I play them in the orchestra (Seattle
Symphony)
and they speak more easily than any other strings on the market. The long E in particular is the best on the market in my opinion. The pizz tone is dark and full. They are a great orchestral string, easy to bow and with a deep sound, yet not mushy or rubbery under the bow - it is a rare balance no other string has in my opinion. I would buy them over any other string available. |

| ...about OBLIGATO 5ths Tuning Double Bass strings: | |
The lower tension in comparison to the .... strings required a lighter jazz pizzicato, but the strings sound and feel far better to my ear. The tension is very even across the strings and the sound sings. Congratulations on your Obligato 5ths set - I think it is outstanding. |

Note on the Oblitagos: Through the years I have managed to developed a problem with my left wrist. On the ..., I would fatigue quickly, and my wrist would hurt quite a lot...with the Obligatos, I have absolutely no problem at all.....a softer string with great volume and projection..... |

|
I've had the Chorda G and D on for just a year. They sound wonderful. Actually I think they sound even better now. The E Oliv is on for a year too - no problem what so ever. I'm going to keep these strings on as long as I can. |

The best "hybrid" string I've tried. Good for both jazz pizzicato and bowing. More of a "gut" feel and sound than metal strings. |

I purchased a
set of your PIRASTRO OBLIGATO Double Bass strings some months ago. Prior
to that I was using the -( brand name)- Solo set. What a difference
in my sound! The OBLIGATO's were much richer and uniform in sound. They
are also easier to play and have a very organic natural tone. I also
like the dark tone and sustain I can get out of my strings. |
