As every year, PIRASTRO strings attended the 2019 Kronberg Academy Festival and luthier making exhibition.
This year’s festival was under the patronage of Marta Casals Istomin with the theme "Searching for Ludwig". For one week, from September 25th to October 1st, instrumentalist and patrons can revel in the musical genius of Ludwig von Beethoven.
As a partner of the Kronberg Academy, PIRASTRO was proud to exhibit along with the numerous renowned instrument makers and their fine instruments.
The three day exhibition took place from Friday to Sunday and the theme of this extremely well attended event was omnipresent, with almost every artist testing an instrument by performing pieces from Beethoven. Often the sounds of the 9th and 5th symphonies could be heard as well as parts of the violin sonatas Op. 12, Op. 30, and cello sonata Op. 40. Since these sonatas were also planned for the concert program it was possible to get an appetite and reacquaint yourself with these pieces before the concert.
As usual, we thought overall the festival was extremely successful and we are looking forward to seeing all of the visitors, artists, exhibitors, and the outstanding event team led by founder and president of the Kronberg Academy Foundation Raimund Trenkler again next year.
