Piatigorsky, AFVBM, and Viola Society Conferences 2016
PIRASTRO strings has been very busy the last couple of weeks visiting Cello, Maker, and Viola conferences across the United States.
We started at the Piatigorsky Cello Festival on May 20th at the beautiful University of Southern California campus in Los Angeles. Many famous cellists from around the world attended the event including PIRASTRO endorsing artists such as Frans Helmerson and Mischa Maisky. In the vendor room cello makers like Robert Young and Michael Fischer were displaying the new Perpetual Strings on their instruments.
Our next stop was the American Federation of Violin and Bow Makers Meeting at the campus of Berkeley College on May 25th. Many of the countries finest instrument and bow makers gathered for three days of lectures and to share information about their craft. PIRASTRO was happy to answer many questions from the makers especially about our newest products like the New Formula Tonica Viola, Evah Pirazzi Slap, and Perpetual strings.
The final stop was on June 8th for the Viola Society Meeting at Oberlin College in Ohio. This nice event was run by the same people who handle the ISB conference. The meeting was well attended by many viola teachers, players, and students. The event also featured nightly concerts that included a wonderful performance from Kim Kashkashian.
